Bottled in Bond Definition

Below are the 3 hard rules we must follow when creating bonded spirits in order to call them Bottled in Bond.

1. They must be aged for a minimum of 4 years

2. They must be bottled at 100 proof or 50% abv

3. All spirits must be made by a single distiller

What's so special about it?

For craft distilleries who have the proper infrastructure in house to create Bottled in Bond spirits are held in higher esteem due to the craftsmanship that goes into each bottle. With the distillery market becoming highly saturated in the last 5-10 years distilleries, including us, want to show everyone how we stand out amongst the rest by the way we prepare and care for our spirits. Anyone nowadays can buy a base distillate, throw it in a barrel and call it a whiskey to sell for a profit, but distillation and making spirits is still an art form we and many others strive to protect within the industry.

Creating products that are Bottled in Bond shows that we have dedicated distillers who are eager to make specialty craft products and put in the time and care to make every bottle excellent. The reason we're switching over more of our standard line of products to Bottled in Bond is because we already put in the time and care to every bottle, so to ensure a whiskey is aged for 4 years and finishes at 100 proof was an easy switch for us to make. The next time you see our whiskeys in our tasting rooms or in stores you may notice our branding and bottles switching more and more to read Bottled in Bond.
