Solera Bourbon is Back!

We’re excited to announce that our Solera Bourbon is back in stock! The fun part about being a small batch distillery is we often have limited-release products that come and go based on availability, including our Solera Bourbon. This fractional barrel-aged and blended bourbon was a hit the first time we released it alongside the Solera Rye whiskey, and we’re now ready with a new batch aged for a total of six years.

HOW IT'S MADE

Our Solera Bourbon is made by taking our standard four-year aged bourbon from American white oak barrels, and moving it to the second tier of barrels for one year, which is a toasted high vanillin barrel, then again this gets moved to the bottom tier for one year, which are cognac barrels. The reason we made this bourbon in a solera system is it gets exposed to multiple types of barrels with different prominent flavor profiles creating more complex notes on the palate. The best part about any whiskey is the time it spends in the barrel, and this bourbon not only gets a healthy amount of time in the barrels, but it also gets aged in three different barrels. It’s a unique Bourbon with notes of vanilla, oak, caramel, and a touch of spice that rolls from the front to back of your palate, making it a great sipping bourbon.

This Solera Bourbon is special in part by how it is aged in a tiered system moving from youngest to oldest in terms of years aged in the three types of barrels. It’s a true labor of love for us, and we’re just as excited as you are when the aging process is finished and it’s time to bottle it up.
