Starting this Friday, May 30th, we are sending out 5 new single barrel picks that will be available in all of our tasting rooms. Each tasting room had the opportunity to choose from a selection of our single barrels in a blind taste test their favorite barrel to sell exclusively in their tasting rooms! There were options between different bourbons and ryes, so each tasting room will have a limited supply of a unique single barrel exclusive to their store.
These single barrels are a little different from ones we've done in the past, not only because each tasting room will have its own barrel pick, but a portion of the proceeds will go to the charity of their choice to support their local community. See below for the single barrel info for all of the tasting rooms so you can plan accordingly to pick up your favorites!
This is one of our Ole George barrels that now sits at a hefty 133.8 proof. There are sweet vanilla and caramel notes complemented by the classic peppery spice of the rye mash bill, and a good amount of heat on the finish. It's perfect for those who love a hot cask strength whiskey!
The portion of the proceeds for this bottle will go towards the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy, our neighbor right around the corner from our distillery.
The tasting room in downtown Traverse City chose a cask strength Bourbon at 116.5 proof. The notes on this one include, caramel, toffee, and honey with a smooth finish.
The proceeds for this single barrel will be going to the Cherryland Humane Society in Traverse City to help continue their efforts in providing a safe haven for hundreds of animals each year.
Leland had first crack at their pick of the barrel and decided to go with a cask strength Bourbon that sits at 118.3 proof. The notes in this one are rich with toffee, honey, and molasses.
The proceeds for this single barrel will be going to the Fishtown Preservation Society to help maintain the heart of Leland, Fishtown.
Frankenmuth went with a cask strength Ole George barrel that rests at 132.9 proof. The flavor profile in this rye whiskey consists of vanilla, oatmeal, and allspice with a lingering finish of heat from the cask strength.
The proceeds for this single barrel will be going to the Frankenmuth Parks and Recreation in order to help maintain their 18 parks and over 120 acres of land in the Frankenmuth area.
Yes, you saw that right, we're opening a tasting room in downtown Charlevoix right on Bridge Street! To kick off the new tasting room, we've chosen an Ole George rye barrel that sits at an impressive 132 proof, providing loads of sweet notes of toffee, allspice, and cinnamon.
The opening date of this tasting room is still TBD, but we will be providing more information soon here on when we'll be open for business this summer!
The proceeds for this single barrel will be going to the Little Traverse Conservancy, based out of Harbor Springs.
Make sure to stop into our tasting rooms this summer to try our different single barrels before they're gone! We have a limited supply of each product, and we will have them available in all of our tasting rooms while supplies last.
